The enrgy needed to build a modern wind turbine, operate it and maintain it thru its designed 20-year lifespan is recouped in 7-9 months, after which emissions are basically zero. These turbines will generate 35 times as much energy in their lifetimes as is consumed in the production, transport, installation, operation, and dismantling process.
