Consistency not always a good thing

Billy led the charge to bury the Pistorino option to the gym. HE decided it wasnt a viable alternative altho the report said that renovation was very possible at 1.6-1.8 million- a far cry from the current 6.8 million we are at now. Billy was in charge and approved payments of $600+ a square foot for the CC enclosure, and TRIPLE what the bathrooms should have cost! He is consistent alright! Consistently throwing away TRUCKLOADS of our tax monies! He stopped listening to the majority of residents a LONG time ago, and now only listens ans caters to those handful of local contractors that make exorbitant profits on EACH and EVERY construction project we undertake! Shameful! He should be embarrassed.

phantom Optimist connection?

By all means, both the owners of the MDAC swim team AND the city officials SHOULD provide that information as a show of good faith! Whether they WILL, or not, remains to be seen. Is it possible both are not operating in good faith? Could it be that the $1100 pool rental break MDAC got when it switched to the pool from the jr college was split a couple ways, with different people? Until further evidence is presented to the contrary, it SURE looks like a possibility, at least, if not a probability. Neither are coming forward with simple information to put these concerns to rest. What kind of lesson would that be for a father to teach his son? What about honesty? integrity? transparency? good business principles? principles of ANY type? It really could make one wonder - if they cheat on their rent, what other things might they be cheating on? skimming or under-stating admissions numbers? heet sheets? concessions? It just LOOKS bad, for them, whether it IS truly bad or not! This really DOES need to be resolved. Just like the phantom Optimist connection- it needs some resolution, one way or another. Billy could straighten this out quickly. Why doesnt he do it! Is Billy hiding something? Billy KNOWS there is NO such connection, but says NOTHING. Is it possible that Billy DOESNT know? He has been an active Optimist for several years, I have heard. Wouldnt a relationship like this, IF it had ever existed, been discussed at one of the meeting? be written down somewhere, in the minutes? This situation is casting a cloud on the good name of the Optimists, as nobody from the Optimists has confirmed or denied the claimed relationship, including Billy. This just gets more and more curious, at the very least.

appointment comments

Is it POSSIBLE that, after THIRTY MONTHS, Billy and Youngs CANT find ONE person out of the 13,000 + residents here in the Springs to fill their appointments? How hard could they be looking? I know of 3 people right now who would volunteer readily. Perhaps they arent looking too hard because its NOT important to them? or maybe they are just too lazy? or perhaps they could care less about their duties and responsibilities as City officials? or maybe a combination of all three? It is apparent that Youngs has one foot out the door already and he just doesnt care if his appointments are EVER filled. Billy is a little harder to figure as he is presumed to be running again and wouldnt like this to become a campaign issue against him- lazy, uncaring, and irresponsible are not electable traits for a candidate, are they? IF those two would fill their appointments the issues of "not enough for a quorum" would just disappear, right? But they havent bothered to fill them for the past THIRTY MONTHS so its unlikely they will fill them any time soon. Lets not rush into this, right guys?

blind ambition, part 3

Billy stopped listening to the people a LONG time ago, around the time he began listening to the special interest groups in town. He has been a HUGE disappointment to most of us. He is single-mindedly focused on enhancing his legacy. His legacy will be one of shame and embarrassment if he leads us into bankruptcy as a result of his legacy projects. Once it is done he will move away and leave us the bills to pay for DECADES. Billy has sold the residents out. Blind, reckless ambition, thy name is Billy Bain. What are the chances he will declare all other issues relating to annexation irrelevent, like he did the Pistorino report, and try to push annexation thru without even a suggestion, a rumor, or a pretense of doing DUE DILIGENCE? Remember the deaf ear in April.
