The web master of this site has said on more than one occasion that he is FRIENDLY with the city. How would people know with any certainty who was posting if they didnt sign their posts? Simple. The city gets them from the web master here. They knew my posts several months before I started signing them. How could THAT happen?There are several local web sites locally, where various topics are presented. This site fosters no real debate, just a variety of self-righteous opinions. When facts and figures are presented they are attacked - if they cant discredit the message with their own facts and figures, and they cant, or they would have tried already - try to discredit the messenger with insults and personal attacks. Thats been the MO here forever. This is no platform for rational debate and discussion, just a platform for petty childishness, illiteracy, and irrationality. Its a complete waste of time and energy to anyone who has a serious interest in local politics. Its a good place, however, for anyone who wants study multiple personalities as some of these posters have several different identities and often ask and answer their own questions here, as if they were somebody else answering. This IS Dr. Mel Johnson. I have NO problem signing my name if the pathetic pukes who are making personal attacks will sign their real names. I have spent the greater part of the past 28 years trying to understand the angry, hostile, and ignorant people who cannot make a rational or logical explanation for their actions or behaviors. When they are exposed they become threatened and strike out to divert attention from their failures. They are trying to provoke me with their personal attacks, but they will not succeed. personal attacks not helpful

It seems a bit premature, misguided, and uncalled for to attack a guy for announcing to run for Council. It could be, and should be, a chance for residents to serve the City, even a civic responsibility in some peoples eyes. I mean, you could question his support for a new gym, annexation, and any of a dozen other projects he supports that are in close agreement with the Mayors, Garcia's, and the City Manager's agendas, those would be fair game, and he could explain his positions and rationale behind those decisions. Its not clear how personal attacks of questionable validity are helping move the discussions forward, toward a resolution regarding any candidates qualifications or hopes and dreams for the residents of Miami Springs.

misguided rant

Sara Palin is an accomplished woman and ambitious politician striving for vice-president of these United States. Shes a little too conservative for me but to attack her personally and hatefully without a shred of rationale or evidence merely shows the ignorance and adolescence of that misguided poster. I have NO doubt that Sen Obama would, and should, repudiate that kind of classless, baseless, and demeaning attack on her in the strongest terms possible. That type of attack has NO place in the American political process, or ANY OTHER process for that matter. NONE. To criticize or comment on their ideas, or performance, or record is fair game, and Sen Obama would surely agree, as those are the established and accepted guidelines for our political discussions and debates. Profane and personal adolescent rants belong somewhere else. They are not welcome here.

Its amazing how some people, when confronted with facts and figures that reflect repeated and continuous HUGE cost overruns and mismanagement, respond with petty and pathetic personal attacks. They have NO numbers or rational arguments with which to dispute the presented facts so they resort to innuendos and personal attacks. Those desperate, bitter, sad, and pathetic people are to be pitied. If they cant move the discussion forward with real numbers and/or rational rebuttal then maybe they should just get out of the way of the efforts of others to do so.

This is a response to those in our community who resort to character assassination and false rumors in an effort to discredit other residents that disagree with them. Rather than rebutting the presented facts and figures with facts and figures of their own (which, I'm sure they would, IF they had any), they resort to personal attacks to distract ands cover up those basic obvious deficiencies. Their comments have NO basis in fact and make NO rational point to debate or discuss, so its just a waste of time and energy. The community can see thru this tired old attempt to discourage discussion and debate with personal attack comments for what they are- a pitiable and feeble attempt to squelch discussion and debate with baseless rumors, and NOT ONE fact. Pathetic.
